Educated in Canada and New York, Corey J. Chimko has studied ancient art history from the neolithic to the fall of Rome. Consequently, much of his art is informed by ancient history. He specialized in Egyptology and can translate hieroglyphs and cuneiform, and worked for several art museums in New York including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He is inspired by all things mysterious, and likes to explore a wide variety of themes in his art that evoke a sense of wonder or spiritual/emotional responses. History, fantasy, horror, exploration, science, literature, Pop Art and the masters of the German Renaissance are among his influences. His artwork is produced in a variety of media, including photography, acrylic painting, pen & ink, pencil, and scratchboard. His photography has been exhibited at the Virtual Museum of Canada, his art at the Osceola Center for the Arts, and he is a member of Gallery One Artists in Kissimmee, FL.
